ContactName - Privacy Policy

What ContactName does

ContactName is a Google Sheets add-on that cleans a column of person names (splitting them into parts, fixing casing and flagging possible duplicates) with a preview before anything is written. It works only on the spreadsheet you have open, and only when you click Preview, Apply or Undo.

Google user data

The add-on requests access to the current spreadsheet only (spreadsheets.currentonly), to read the range you choose, write the Preview sheet and the cleaned columns and, if you choose to replace the original column, a hidden backup sheet, and to show its sidebar (script.container.ui). The contents of your spreadsheet are processed inside Google's Apps Script runtime in your Google account. We never receive, copy, store, sell or share your spreadsheet content, your name or your email address. We do not use Google user data for advertising, for training AI models, or for any purpose other than providing the features you use.

ContactName's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Information sent to our server

Only if you buy and activate Pro (script.external_request): your license key and a random device identifier created by the add-on are sent over HTTPS to our license server so it can confirm that the license is valid. No spreadsheet content, no Google account details. The free version sends nothing to us.

Information stored

The add-on stores your settings, the random device identifier and (for Pro) your license key in Google's per-user add-on storage (Apps Script User Properties). You can remove them by uninstalling the add-on or asking us to deactivate your key.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details; we keep your email and order reference to issue and support your license.

Children

ContactName is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

We hold almost no personal data about you. For access or deletion of license records, email us and we will respond promptly.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the effective date.
